I have been going back and forth on how to do the layout of this book. I want to keep thinks very simple and let the photography tell the story. I’m trying to stay away from using graphics and just use type and the photos…. don’t know if it’s working. I still have to play around with the exact location and formatting of the body type, but I kinda like the first page with the type intruding on the photo…. Hmm….

Don’t be afraid of adding graphic elements to the page. Especially if they are relevant and connected to the subject.
I like having the text interact with the photos. We aware of how the text reads though. I the top spread, the headline is pretty far afield from the text it goes with.
Also, think about how the photos can be cropped and used as art too. There are some really great textures and colors that could be used as accents.
Try not to be overly influenced by the whiteness of the page. Explore, try lots of things out!
One last note. be aware of the subjects in your photos… in the bottom spread, both women are looking away from the text which leads your eye away and off the page. Does the text on the right side conform to a grid system?
Keep going!!
